Watching twitter scream past yesterday I caught a reference to this series of articles about skills -- and I think it's a kickass, indepth series that is making me think long and hard about the way I use skills in my DMing.
Yesterday Wizards announced that they're going to make a change from their current, downloadable character builder, and deliver a web-based version instead. Like any decision in the geek community, especially one that involves a change, this has burbled out an internet-sized pant-load of nerd rage over the change.
Well, we just got back from GenCon 2010 last night. I didn't post at all on the trip -- I'm apparently a real dope -- but I had a great time -- we played a lot of D&D, spent a lot of time cruising the dealer hall, and saw a lot of great stuff.
This time next week, I'll be getting on a plane to fly to scenic Fort Wayne, indiana for D&D Experience. This will be my second time at this particular show -- I went a couple of years ago as a preview judge for 4e.
This year I'm going to be splitting my time -- I'll be judging the Delve for four sessions, and playing for five. I don't get to be player very much. I'm looking forward to dusting off Fathom, my 4th level gnome rogue, and even trying out a couple new characters at the con.
